Malaysia’s Ministry of Health (MOH) Urged Wearing Face Masks as Covid-19 Cases Rise

As of Dec 13, Malaysia’s Ministry of Health (MOH) has requested for the public to resume previous Covid-19 preventive measures. The reported cases has almost doubled in its latest report, and it is just weeks before the year-end activities.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Muhammad Radzi Abu Hassan of Malaysia gave an advice of wearing masks during gatherings. From December 3rd to December 9th, there was a significant surge in cases, with 12,757 reported cases compared to 6,796 cases from November 26th to December 2nd.

MOH anticipates there will be an increase in Covid-19 cases as the festival of Christmas and New Year are close. This concern is compounded by the possibility of the virus spreading during the upcoming school holidays, starting from December 16.

Moreover, the MOH appeals the public to put high priority over the masks. This precautionary measures are taken for more protection of individuals, and others. Protecting families, friends and others from the from the risk of Covid-19 infection starts with oneself.

Regularly wash your hands and maintain the physical distance.
