Shipping to China: Rules for Personal and Company Shipments

A. Personal Shipments (Under 5KG)

Rule Description
Weight Limit Personal shipments are limited to 5KG, with a maximum of 10 items per package.
Proof of Purchase It is advisable to provide shopping receipts, proof of purchase, or online purchase screenshots.
Value of Single Item A single item in the package can have a value exceeding 5000 RMB.
Value and Quantity of Multiple Items For packages containing multiple items (up to 10), the total value must not exceed 1000 RMB and should be for personal use only.
Item Condition Used, damaged, or old items are not allowed (excluding luggage items).
Customs Clearance The recipient must provide copies of their ID (front and back) for customs clearance.
Declared Value The value of items should not be underreported.

 

B. Company Shipments (Simplified Customs Clearance)

Rule Description
Weight Limit Limited to 30KG per shipment, with a value not exceeding 5000 RMB.
Required Documentation Commercial invoice and recipient company name are required.
Food and Medicine Can only be shipped through formal customs clearance or as personal items.

C. Company Shipments (Formal Customs Clearance)

Rule Description
Weight and Value Limit Shipments over 30KG and with a value exceeding 5000 RMB.
Required Documentation Commercial invoice and recipient company name are required.
Company Credentials The recipient must have import/export qualifications and relevant permits.

D. Personal Luggage Shipments (Up to 500KG)

Rule Description
Weight Limit Limited to 500KG, only personal used items allowed.
ID Proof Copies of ID (photos acceptable) are required.
Return Ticket Copies of return ticket (photos acceptable) are required.
Itemized List A detailed itemized list of contents must be provided (form supplied by our company).
Customs Declaration Upon return, obtain a declaration form from customs, notifying them of personal luggage being shipped back via courier.
Prohibited Items in Luggage Food, liquids, powders, cosmetics, batteries, magnetic items, etc., cannot be shipped.

Important Tips

  • Used, damaged, or old items cannot be shipped to China.
  • Declare items at their market value in China to avoid customs issues.
  • Provide specific details about the brand, full name, specifications, and quantity of items.

Example: For shipping Milo drinks, do not just write “Milo”. Provide detailed information as follows:
