What is the eMadani programme?
eMadani is a government initiative by the Ministry of Finance Malaysia. It is announced under the “Ekonomi Madani: Memperkasa Rakyat” framework. RM1 billion of budget has been allocated for eMadani initiative. It has been expected to benefit around 10 million of Malaysians. Through some of the announced participating eWallets, those who fulfill the requirements are able to apply for the RM100 eWallet credit. One redemption per person, and it cannot be redeemed more than once, even with a different eWallet. The initiative is meant for three objectives, starting with the intention to support micro, small and medium enterprises (PMKS). The other two objectives are the encouraging of cashless payments and serve to benefit the citizens of Malaysia.
Who is eligible for applying the RM100 eMadani eWallet credit?
According to the source, the eMadani initiative is open for registration to Malaysian citizens aged 21 years old and above (as of 2023) with an annual income of RM100,000 and below, OR is a recipient of Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) (as of 7th November 2023). Malaysians who are turning 21 years old at the end of this year (2023) are eligible to participate in the programme as well. Besides, you will need to complete electronic “Know-Your-Customer”(eKYC) step on your preferred eWallet if you haven’t done before. Basically, it is a step for verifying your eWallet with your identification card (MyKad).
Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. on December 4, 2023, and will close at 11:59 p.m. on February 20, 2024. However, if you have already redeemed RM200 under eBeliaRahmah, you will not be eligible to receive the RM100 eMadani credit mentioned. Lastly, the RM100 eWallet credit is available on a first-come-first-served basis. Do take your chance if you meet the criteria and are interested with it!
